Impeller wear in centrifugal fans results from multiple interacting factors, significantly impacting overall performance. Implementing preventive measures is essential. Below are key mitigation strategies:
1.Surface Treatment
Perform carburizing, plasma overlay welding, hard alloy spraying, or ceramic tile bonding on blade surfaces to increase hardness.Carburizing requires precise thickness control; overlay welding may cause deformation/cracks; spraying faces thickness challenges; ceramic tiles are effective but costly.
2.Wear-Resistant Coatings
Apply coatings for simple, low-cost protection with typical effectiveness of 3-5 months.
3.Structural Improvements
Modify blades via serrated working surfaces, converting hollow blades to solid, or adding welded wear blocks to reduce wear.
4.Front Wear-Resistant Cascade
Install cascade at high-wear areas to redirect particles from hub to blades, converting concentrated wear to even distribution and extending service life.
5.Aerodynamic Optimization
Select proper inlet shapes, minimize rotation speed, design flow paths with gradually increasing curvature radius, and reduce entry velocity to decrease particle collisions.
